Tubular Skylights

Solatube Brighten Up Series

The Modern Skylight Alternative

Natural Light Designed Around Your Home

The new Solatube Brighten Up Series gives Central Florida homeowners more control over both the amount of daylight entering a room and how the finished skylight looks at the ceiling. The lineup now includes new fixtures, like the ThinLine and Contour collections that offer different profiles and light-distribution options.

Inside the system, SpectraLight Infinity tubing transfers captured sunlight from the roof to the room below, while RayBender 3000 and LightTracker technology help collect daylight at the rooftop dome. At the ceiling, the selected fixture controls how that light is diffused into the room below.

Choose the Right Solatube Size for the Room

Fixture selection controls the character and style of the daylight, while system sizing determines how much space the installation is intended to serve.

Solatube 160 DS

Recommended coverage: 150 to 200 sq. ft.

Potential tube length: up to 20 ft.

The 160 DS works great for smaller spaces such as bathrooms, laundry rooms, closets, hallways, and dens. With a recommended coverage area of 150 to 200 square feet, it is sized to bring bright, vibrant daylight into compact rooms. The system can accommodate tube runs up to 20 feet, giving installers flexibility when the ideal ceiling location does not line up directly beneath the roof penetration.

Solatube 290 DS

Recommended coverage: 250 to 300 sq. ft.
Potential tube length: up to 30 ft.

The 290 DS works well in kitchens, family rooms, primary bathrooms, and larger entryways. Designed for spaces of approximately 250 to 300 square feet, it provides broad natural light coverage for rooms where people gather, work, and spend time throughout the day. Tube runs of up to 30 feet allow the system to reach rooms even when the best roof location isn’t directly above the desired ceiling location.

Your daylight, your style

Solatube Fixture Options

The new Brighten Up Series introduces two fixture families: ThinLine and Contour. ThinLine fixtures sit exceptionally close to the ceiling for a restrained architectural finish. Contour fixtures introduce additional depth and shape when you want the skylight itself to have a stronger visual presence.

ThinLine Vusion

Best for: everyday rooms where you want soft, even daylight and a clean look that blends into the ceiling.

The Vusion comes standard with your Solatube and suits almost any room. It sits low and nearly flush with the ceiling and spreads daylight into a soft, even glow, a clean, understated look that works just as well in a hallway, a kitchen, or a bedroom.

Contour TierDrop

Best for: spaces where the ceiling fixture is intended to be seen.

Choose TierDrop when you want the daylighting fixture to contribute to the architecture of the room rather than visually disappear into the ceiling. TierDrop is the most visibly dimensional option in the collection. Its cascading contours diffuse the incoming daylight and produce a halo effect around the ceiling fixture while distributing light into the room. We usually recommend TierDrop in an entry, primary living area, larger kitchen or other finished space where the ceiling is part of the overall design.

Contour OptiView Frost

Best for: larger rooms where you want daylight to interact with both the ceiling and surrounding walls.

Choose OptiView Frost when you want a sculptural fixture with controlled diffusion and greater emphasis on illuminating the surrounding room. OptiView Frost combines Fresnel optics with a frosted layer, spreading daylight high onto the walls while softly illuminating the ceiling. That makes it an interesting option for Central Florida rooms with taller ceilings. Instead of judging the installation only by how bright the area directly beneath the Solatube becomes, we can consider how daylight contributes to the brightness of the room’s vertical surfaces.

290 DS Plus Round

290 DS Plus

The 290 DS Plus is the largest tubular skylight we install, built to brighten rooms a standard unit cannot fill on its own. It works well for great rooms, open kitchens, large primary suites, and spaces with high or vaulted ceilings, where you want the reach of a traditional skylight with the clean look and heat control of a Solatube. Because of its size, it is ordered to fit your specific roof and ceiling, so we confirm the details with you before install.

How a Tubular Skylight Works

Sunlight Is Captured on Your Roof

At the top of your roof, a high-performance dome captures sunlight from all 360 degrees- not just straight overhead like traditional skylights. This smart design means your Solatube tubular skylight collects light earlier in the morning, and later into the evening, keeping your home brighter, longer.

Light Is Redirected and Enhanced

Inside the dome, patented Raybender 3000 technology and the LightTracker Reflector work together to redirect and boost even low-angle sunlight. This system both filters out harsh midday glare, and increases the usable daylight that reaches your living space.

Light Travels Through our Ultra Reflective Tubing

Once captured and redirected, sunlight moves through the Spectralight Infinity Tubing, which has a reflectivity rating of 99.7 percent. This mirror-like tube carries sunlight around attic obstacles with very little light loss.

Beautiful, Natural Light Fills the Room

At the ceiling, light passes through a stylish fixture that diffuses it evenly into your space. The result is a bright, comfortable room filled with vibrant, natural light.

After Sunset, It Keeps Working

An available solar-powered NightLight charges during the day and automatically emits a soft glow at night. Perfect for late-night trips to the bathroom, hallways, or anywhere you don’t want to fumble for a light switch.

Solatube Tubular Skylights vs. Traditional Skylights

A traditional flat skylight can only capture light from directly overhead, but the Solatube dome can capture daylight from all angles, sunrise to sunset, including morning and evening light, for longer, more consistent light throughout the day. Even on cloudy days, Solatube’s ultra-reflective tubing amplifies all available light and brings it deep into your home, without added heat or UV damage.

Installation: What to Expect

Solatube® Daylighting Systems are designed for a clean, efficient installation that is often completed in just a few hours. A certified installer identifies the best location to capture daylight, then creates a small roof opening and installs a leak-proof flashing system. Highly reflective tubing is fitted between the roof and ceiling to deliver sunlight into the space below. The process is completed with the installation of a ceiling diffuser that spreads soft, natural light evenly throughout the room.

The result is bright, beautiful daylight with minimal disruption to your home.
