Solatube Tips, Maintenace, & Guides

Where do I start. First thought is the tech support I received. I only bought a 30.00 item and I was talking to a live person right away with out any nonsense numbers button pushing marathon needed. The guy was educated in all solor areas and he answered all my new guy questions with patience and thoroughness. Even providing me a phone number to him in case I had any future questions. FedEx then made the mistake of delivering my package to the wrong place. Solar Guys was completely innocent of any of the complication in the Deliverance. Or should I say in lack thereof. They refunded my money anyways. During this whole fiasco a very kind and awesome lady texting me and said communication would be the whole time. Be nothing but professional and courteous all the way through . Long story short these guys are awesome.

Everyone is have been in contact with at Solar Guys have been exceptionally kind and wonderful. However, our installer Chandler is phenomenal. He is kind, efficient, trustworthy and an extremely wonderful person. He did a great job installing our garage vent in record time and no mess to clean up. We are extremely happy with this company and more so with Chandler. The manager Wade is great and has a great sense of humor.

When my wife suggested we get these Solar Tunnels installed, I was skeptical. But she won me over and we got four tubes installed yesterday. I could NOT be happier with them! Our house is SO MUCH brighter and more comfortable than it has ever been before. We installed them in our kitchen, den, master bedroom, and guest bathroom. Throughout the day I keep reaching for the light switch as I'm leaving those rooms thinking I need to turn the lights off - but I never turned them on. I also can't say enough good things about our installer, Chris. He was friendly and efficient. He completed the entire job on his own, in a matter of hours. I'm shocked by how quickly and how well he worked.

I called this company to inquire about exhaustion of my garage & attic. After talking & getting answers to my questions as well as explanation how all work from John Capers, Sales Manager, I requested the installation of two Solar attic fans which were installed two days later by technician Chris who was on time, professional, very efficient & organized with his job which I loved because when he finished with the installation everything was clean & looking great. I also requested the cleaning of the dryer ductwork that for the last 11 years since I purchased this house was never done. Very well done & no mess. I highly recommend this company for their honesty, professionalism, great attitude & service.

The two solar tubes in the kitchen and great room are perfect! We love the natural light. The night light on the kitchen tube is also very helpful. The garage door vent system has noticeably lowered the intense heat in the garage. It is now no hotter than the outdoor ambient temp. Installation was clean and efficient...no plaster dust in the house. Excellent and friendly service technician!

Our kitchen solar tube been the for about 20 yrs and looked very dated. Fortunately the sale manager shared a special they were having to update it. Tech was very nice and did a great job. He also upgraded our solar fan that was 20 plus years. Great project done by a real pro!! Thanks so much.

The Solar Guys did an awesome job with my (1) new Solatube and (2) refurbished Solatubes. What a difference, having all that natural light now. The new installation in the laundry room turned a cave into a room where I don’t even need to turn on the light. I am a second generation Villager and I appreciate what an upgrade the Solatube’s are to a home. My installer, Chandler, was both professional and personable. He explained everything that he was doing and the installation looks great. Thank you Solar Guys!

The Company was extremely responsive and made it very easy to make an appointment. Both the owner and the installer explained everything in detail, and gave us options for different ceiling “fixtures” once the solar tubes were installed. They look great inside the house as well as on the roof. Wow, so much light! It’s like an entirely different house. Since then we have had several torrential rainstorms. No leaks. We would highly recommend this company and the installation of their solar tubes.

The day of our Solar Tune installation, the service technician greeted me in a professional manner. We walked the room where I wanted more light in the house. Within 10 minutes he mapped out the location, got a hole cut in the ceiling and it seemed only minutes later the hole was cut in our roof for the light enter our dark family. We couldn’t be happier with results and who we selected for the job.

The entire staff at Solar Guys were nothing but kind, courteous, professional, and understand of my situation and timetables while I was bouncing back-and-forth between two states. My installer, Eric, was amazing! He knocked the installation out in no time at all without any mess whatsoever. On top of that, he was just a great guy to talk to. The solar tubes themselves, are fantastic and provide even more light than the tubes that my in-laws had installed in their home over 25 years ago. I only had one tube installed to cover an entrance hallway that had absolutely no light coming in from the outside and was like a dark cave if the ceiling lights were not turned on. That single tube lights the entire hallway as though the sun is shining right through the house. I am so impressed that I’m probably going to have more installed. You definitely could not pick a better group for your project or a better product.

FANTASTIC SERVICE! We called this morning with an issue that needed to be checked and their service technician, Chris, was out to the house within two hours. He was so knowledgeable and helpful. He assured us there was no problem with our initial concern but pointed out out attic fans were no longer working and was able to replace them immediately. No waiting for a second appointment so everything was handled quickly. We used their company when we first moved into our house years ago to install three solar tubes and two attic fans and we HIGHLY recommend them. 👌

Chandler was/is a delightful young man and he did a wonderful job...plus he is just pleasant to be around! He dealt with several issues in our attic and got them sorted (in the bloody heat I might mention). My solar tubes are such a blessing as my little house has been pretty dark because I have so few windows in the middle. I had forgotten how much light they add and how much electricity I'm saving by not having my lights on all day...lol. Six stars for Chandler.

BEWARE of SOLAR GUYS get M and M instead. This was my third house, I had solar tubes installed in by Solar Guys. The first 2 houses were great, so I didn't hesitate to install in another. I asked for the same tubes I had previously and was told these are the same, except they have a night light in them. 3 were installed. These are NOT the same as what I had previously, These are horrible, ununiform and look even worse at night, When I complained and told them how much I dislike them, Jesse Wade, from Solar Guys pretty much told me too bad, there is nothing they can do and he hopes I get acclimated to them. I won't. I should've been told prior to installation that they changed the style. So now I'm out close to $3000 for something I hate, and more if I have them removed and get my ceilings repaired. These are pictures of how the light shines thru, judge for yourself, if this really what you want. Sad thing is I called M & M Skylights and they were going to match Solar Guys price and install a larger fan in garage but I choose Solar Guys because I had them before and thought I knew what I was getting, wrong.. they lied telling me they were the same. Solar guys answer to me was these are like the ones I had previously, they are NOT. I know what I had. They also say they offered different diffusers, they did, but they are not much better and they were going to charge me even more for them. So BEWARE The pictures below are what my lights look like all the time, looks like dirt or something is in the fixture.

Installed 2-35 W over main floor and 1-16 W solar attic fans over a very hot second story bonus room in August. After one month I’ve already seen a $70 drop in my electric bill. Look forward to taking 30% off on my tax return for the tax credits which end at the end of the year for 2025. I can tell the ventilation is a lot better because my mirrors don’t steam up now that I don’t have a hot attic. And I hope to see my bill continue to go down next summer. The roof is leak proof as I’ve had multiple rain storms with no issues so the installation was phenomenal.

As an environmentalist who tries to live sustainably, I looked for months to find the right installers and system for me in KCMO area. (recommend using EnergySage, it's how I found The Solar Guys) The installers were able to get everything done in two days. A 9.9KW system on a split-level home. The lead installer Brad gave me a very understandable explanation of the process. Answered all of my questions. The other installers Kyle and Jordan were hard working and polite. Any issues they would run it by me. Fully trust this team and Solar Guys. The owners and salesmen felt honest and worked with me to find the right size system for my needs. There were difficulties finding historical usage for my previously vacant home, however TSG was able to find the info. I did finance my panels to afford the installation. Their pre-inspection even found damaged breakers and they were able to wrap the new Fusebox into the solar loan agreement. 10/10 would hire again. --- I will come back in a few months to update this post with solar stats and expectations vs outcome.

Appt was at noon but they showed up at 8. Said they would come back I was like no. 1) it's so much hotter at noon to be working in my attic and 2) I converted a patio sunroom into my office and its beeen ridiculously hot so lets git er done! I had Time insulation back when I lived in Clearwater Duke recommended them They told me we gave you a little "extra" sounds good right? nope when I had a home energy assesment there was no insulation in my living room and my sons room even though I paid to have the whole house insulated. Called the owner he said we would ever do that. Um sir I'm afraid you most certainly did do that. Long story short this company DID NOT do that to me. I even went up in the attic w a flashlight just to make sure but needn't have worried. All looks good. Highly recommend this company. The workers were very nice and thorough

Their solar tube product is a way to add natural light to your home by installing these tubes through the roof and into any room or area of your home that lacks natural light. We had Brody and Joe, from the Solar Guys, insulate our entire house and add radiant barrier to our garage. Take a look at the attached pictures. Very professional job all the way. Look at the chart that shows our air conditioning usage before and after the insulation and radiant barrier. We had the insulation installed on Friday the 26th. From that day on, our A/C usage has dropped 25%. That's a real savings. Kudos for a job well done.
